Does your 8-9 month old sleep with a blanket?

Does your baby sleep with a blanket or anything in their crib? I’m talking about older babies, 8 months plus. Thanks y’all! My boy can almost walk, so he can sit up, roll over, crawl, stand up in his crib. Opinions?

They make wearable blankets. You can search for them on Amazon (halo sleep sack, etc) — that’s what’s we use for our 18 month old.

Blankets are NOT recommended until 18 months. They have caused deaths even past that, so some people say 2.

I personally wouldn’t just to be safe. I would use a sleep sack instead.

No. I gave my boy a swaddle blanket for naps only because it helped him sleep. It was muslin and breathable and I was awake. At night, nothing but his sleep sack until he was st least a year. Even when they’re mobile, the official recommendation is at leadt a year before blankets/stuffed animals.  If you think he really needs it to sleep, talk it over with his pediatrician.

I know of a lot of people who do, and a lot who don’t. My son used a blanket since before 8 months. No pillow though

my duaghter has used a blanket since 5 months mainly because it was a blanket that had more than enough holes to give her air even if she covered her face

I started a muslin blanket around that age (the same as the infant swaddle blankets, the thin one, not the big double layered). No other blanket or sheet though, and it was just loose in the crib, not tucked or anything. You can wad the thing up and put it right over your mouth and you can still breathe through it, so I'm not to worried about it. It doesn't really keep them warm though, more for comfort.

You will get mixed reviews on this. I was putting a blanket on my daughter right after I brought her home because I was never told not to. She 10, so she survived it...but that DOES NOT mean it’s safe. I didn’t put a blanket on my son until her was about 14 months when I switched him to a toddler bed. His doctor said it was fine at that age.

My son has al says slept with a blanket, won’t sleep without one. Only gave him a thin blanket until he was older though

We waited until 12 months but my daughter didn’t walk until then. I think once they are moving good on their own it’s fine.
