Help with military gender reveal?

I’m going soon to find out the gender of my first baby. My husband just deployed to Germany for 9 months, I need some help with the reveal! My plan is to have a personal reveal on skype between just me and him so I wanna find the best way to do it for both of us! My idea was when I get the US done, I want the DR to write it doesn’t like any surprise reveal, but because I’ll be on skype, I thought maybe have the paper he will use to be color coordinated? Write on the blue for boy and pink for girl, put it in multiple envelopes so I can’t see the color, and reveal that on the video message. Is that a good idea or does anyone have any suggestions to maybe make it easier or better? This is a huge deal for my husband and I want to make it special for him since he can’t be here! Please help and thank you!
