I'm a tech and I recently started surgery training. Our facilities are legit with scavenging systems and everything and my Ob/Gyn says it's fine. However, I have not told my boss yet and I'm getting nervous because the tech that's training me makes comments like "hope nobody's pregnant!" when the Dr knocks the inhalation tube off the ET tube by accident. The exotic deptartment was also anesthetizing a guinea pig one time and they used a mask rather than an ET tube. Before they started they said "everyone ok with the gas?". I didn't say anything because we were cleaning up and just about to leave the room. It's going to be a few more weeks before I plan to tell my boss and I just want to know what other techs/vets think. How worried should I be about small exposures to iso/sevoflurane?
