Why do you want to be a mother?

I ask this question in a pragmatic and curious tone. Like, biologically speaking I understand the desire to carry on your DNA, but taking out emotions, I am asking myself why I want to be a mother. I think it's a profound question to ask ourselves. What do you girls think?  
(Not sure where to post this) applies to everyone!

When I was six, my mother gave birth to my brother, sat him in a corner in a infant seat and didn't tpich him. I cared for him. I raised him. My mother was abusive and I hated her. She gave me every reason to not want to be a mom, but all I have ever wanted was to love on children and give them the warmth I never had as a child. Its bringing some life into the world, loving and caring for that life so it can do the same for others.

I think if you take out emotion then all you have left is genetics and the biological drive to procreate. I'm not sure if I can completely understand what's driving my rational but I want something that's a piece of me and a piece of my husband that brings us and our extended families closer together.  It's kind of a long term project that I can focus on with my husband. Like any other project you invest your time and effort and you watch that project evolve. We have pets and get a lot of pleasure caring for them and in the love we receive from them. We have a big garden and grow fruits and vegetables so we see the labour of that love. It's a beautiful thing to grow something from a tiny seed into something big and strong.

Honestly, I’ve been struggling with this for a few days (I recently found out I may have to have cervical cancer cells removed in a procedure that will make it harder for me to have kids, if at all).  
I’ve always wanted to be a mother, I always always always have.  So lately, with that news, I’ve been debating it.  And this is what I’ve come up with:
As a woman, I am so blessed to have this profound ability to create, carry, and bear a new life.  It’s an ability unique to women, and while painful, it is an amazing gift.  I’ve been blessed with a great mother, who is always there for me, and I want to be able to do that for my child (obviously I could and would do that if I was faced with adoption as the only way to have kids).  There is just something so appealing to me, however, about getting to experience creating and carrying a new life.  
That’s just my thoughts on why I personally want to.

When I got pregnant with my son honestly I couldn’t answer that question. In my mind at the time, of course I was happy, but I mean I didn’t think it would really change my life or myself. 
The reason I am ttc now to continue to be a mother for a second little one is because it has drastically changed me as a human being. It has made me become a better person. It has given life to a new side of me that I never saw or imagined. I see the world now through more rose colored glasses. But the best reason of all is every morning when I wake up I see the most beautiful face and smile saying mommy!! With such joy. I have my heart completely warmed every time I’m grinned at or hugged super tightly! Being able to watch him learn and grow every day is a wonderful thing. It’s the best feeling in the world to be a mother and it’s not something you can buy it has to be given to you and I think that’s what makes it so special. So that’s why I am and want to continue to be a mother. ❤️

Because I want to give little people ( babies) a loving, happy fun life, filled with great memories, if we have to keep the world going then I want my people to enter this world and be raised as best I can raise them 😊

I love the idea that after I’m long gone, a piece of me will always be there. I left a footprint on Earth. So will my kids and their kids.

Because I want to show and teach love to a child.  I was. Teacher for a few years and loved watching the kids learn and grow.  Wanted to have my own child/ children to teach about the world and see how they grow.  My lo is 5 1/2 months and I love watching him grow.

Well speaking biologically? I have absolutely no reason to have children. If you take emotion out of why I want to have children then your left with a body that has some pretty severe inheritable traits. I’m definitely one of those people who with modern medicine would have died pretty young. Autoimmune disorders are kinda shit. It goes into the idea, why should I reproduce if my offspring are more likely to die? 
Emotionally why I want too becomes the focus, modern medicine that can help treat illnesses so the person can have a semi normal life when suffering from things that could have killed us early. So I become a parent because I can give my children an amazing life with wondrous things, and I love children and think that they honestly change the world, because one day we all do. 
But biologically is not the reason.
