When should you and your significant other meetfamily?

I want us to meet family. He ignores it. But yet he plans a future with me. From future travels to kids and marriage, he just will not entertain the idea of me meeting his family. I have met his daughter 5 times. He sees my daughter almost daily.. I wonder if I'm wasting my time. We also haven't been on a date since Aug.. 💆

I met my boyfriends family almost right away. Just because that’s where we hung out. We started dating at 16 & 18 and we’re now 20 & 22. But he didn’t meet my family for a couple of month. My family is just a little crazy and intense so i held off for a bit.

the time frame has a lot of variables. however he is comfortable with you around his daughter and that at least shows a lot of trust( unless he's a bad parent ) remember some people are embarrassed of their families or just don't see why it's a big deal to meet them

I didn’t meet my SOs family until I was in the hospital delivering our daughter . 2 years into us dating . He wanted me to meet his mom several times but it was always when we just hopped out of bed my hair wasn’t done wearing sweats so I never wanted to meet her looking like that lol . So funny she kind of saw me looking my worst but what ever . Give it some time girl . You never know what type of relationship he has with his parents . You’ll meet them when the time is right

Whenever you guys feel ready. My boyfriend and I started dating in September of last year, and he didn’t meet my parents until New Year’s Eve. I met his family a few days before Christmas. All throughout November though it had kind of become a thing we were constantly talking about, mainly because he felt ready to meet/introduce the family before I felt ready. We kinda just talked about it and made it happen eventually! Within the year+ we’ve been together he’s gone with me to weddings, birthday parties, I’ve been with him to birthdays and anniversary parties, I have dinner with his family every so often. Don’t push it! If you’re not ready you’re not ready, if he’s not ready he’s not ready. Let it happen naturally. Sit down and really have a conversation about it

I think you meet them whenever your comfortable doing it. But seeing as how you have already met his daughter, id say its probably time to meet his family. And if he wont then i guess you have a decision to make! Good luck hun!

There’s not a set time. I don’t think it’s some sacred thing that you have to wait for. But I also wouldn’t be bothered if my SO didn’t want me meeting his family. Maybe they have some issues within the family and he doesn’t want you involved

Maybe he's embarrassed of them or just not that close to them. my husband only talked to his mother by phone 3 times a year before we had children.
