Postpartum body

Julia

We have this idea of what our bodies should look like and what they shouldn’t. It shouldn’t be this way, our bodies are all different and no one should tell us how they should look.

“skinny” “eat a sandwich” “I can see your ribs” these are just some of the many comments I have gotten over the years about my body. “thigh gaps are nasty” “zero isn’t a size” these are some of what society says about smaller women.

As much as people think these are just statements, they hurt as much as “fat” or “you should lose some weight”.

People think that because you are smaller their words don’t hurt, well I am here to tell you they do.

We have to stop hurting one another and just love everyone for who they are, no matter if they are 100 or 200 pounds.

I have done nothing to prevent weight loss, in fact I have increased my calorie intake in the hopes that some of the baby weight would stick around but it hasn’t.

This is me 39 Weeks and 7 Weeks postpartum.

Don’t judge people, just love them.
