First ultrasound at 5wks 3 days??

I called for an appointment when I found out I was pregnant on Monday 12/11. I use Glow to track my periods so I know my LMP was 11/13. I told the woman at the Dr. office my LMP and she scheduled me for tomorrow 12/21. 
I’m already terrified of not seeing a heartbeat because I’m so excited to even be pregnant and therefore fearful something will go wrong. Everything feels good so far physically. Sore breasts. 
Is it odd that she scheduled me so early on??

My dr had me come in at 6 weeks but only for pregnancy confirmation. I then came back 3 weeks later for the first ultrasound which was to determine due date.

My doctor also scheduled me for one at 5 weeks! They couldn’t find anything and it was internal (so be ready for that) it ended up being a huge pain in the ass because my doctor then thought I was ectopic and sent me for another one at 7 weeks just for them to find it with a heart beat and everything was fine. Hopefully yours is a better experience! Congrats :)

If this is your first pregnancy and it’s completely natural, yes, it’s weird to be scheduled so early for an appointment let alone an ultrasound.  I had twins and took clomid first pregnancy and didn’t have an ultrasound or appointment until they thought I was 6 weeks.  Ultrasound showed no heartbeats and babies measured 5w2d.  We went back a week later and had two strong heartbeats.  With this pregnancy (2nd preg - 3rd baby), it was completely natural and unexpected.  Doctor didn’t see me until almost 9 weeks.  Most doctors won’t see you until at least 8 weeks and some won’t do an ultrasound until at least 12.

Thank you everyone! This is my third pregnancy and definitely totally different. My other two I had my first US at roughly 8 weeks. I feel better knowing that if we only see the sacs then that’s totally normal at this stage. You’ve all given me peace of mind. Thank you!
