Baby eczema treatments?

He has patches all over his back. Just dry and red. Ped said Vaseline after baths was fine but I don't think it's improving at all. Any secrets out there?

🙄 instead of throwing creams at the baby, try figuring out the cause of the eczema. A lot of times it’s food that triggers a flare up. Ours has a dairy allergy so when he has any kind of food with milk in it he gets itchy and his eczema spots get red and he starts scratching so when we avoid dairy he’s great! He’s still a dry baby and we’ve tried aveeno baby lotion and that didn’t do much and we’ve just started dove baby sensitive and it’s helped a lot with the dry spots. I’d suggest seeing an allergist and seeing if anything shows a reaction and eliminate foods that way and you should seen an improvement. Good luck mama!!

My son had a HORRIBLE eczema flare up at around 6 Months Old. Coconut oil and Vaseline were lifesavers, along with hydrocortisone on the very troubled patches. We still use that routine for flare ups. Coconut oil first, baseline on top to help keep moisturized.

Have you tried a oatmeal bath? you can find Avenno packets next to the Epson salt and bubble bath. My son has eczema flair ups and I do oatmeal baths and coat with coconut oil. nose frida also makes a a silicone brush called derma Frida, I just got one and going to give it a try so not sure how good it works but their nose Frida is amazing so I guess I have high hopes!

We swear by California Baby Calendula Cream. My son gets those patches too, and I’ve noticed them starting to flare up more now that it’s getting really cold and dry. I slather him down after baths, and when they’re bad at diaper changes too. As long as I’m consistent with it, it keeps it away completely.
