What Should I Do with a Cracked and Sore Nipple?

My daughter wants nothing more to do with my left breast. And tbh I’m okay with it because it’s in soooo much pain.
Right now we are doing breastfeeding and formula. So I’m only giving to her from right breast which is still in tact.
What should I do with the left one? It’s a little more shallow to begin with. I’m either thinking nipple shield or pumping. I have never pumped before.
I was concerned on using the nipple shield because I heard it can be hard to ween off... but if I’m already doing formula it’s not like I’m trying to be exclusive about BF...

I would pump just to keep the supply my baby is exactly the same some days he takes the left boob some days he screams his little lungs out if I try and latch him on.. since day one he has always preferred the right and I’ve tried the shield with my left and he did not want anything to do with it. You can try to pump and bottle feed the left? I just always try the left first and then if he isn’t having it then I latch him on the right even if my breast is soft. He still gets plenty of milk.
