Extremely itchy postpartum

Im 15 days pp & have started to experience really bad itching around my clit area. I also have discharge that has a bad smell to it. I went to the obgyn for a follow up 4 days ago and he said visually he doesn't see any infection & that it's just part of my healing process. He didn't test me for any infections though. Is there anything I can do to ease the itching and smell?? And when will this go away?
