Hawaiian vacay with Ex???? HELP

Okay so my ex and I broke up 8 months ago. We were together for 3 years. I went home to visit family and texted him. He was kind of short with me but a month later he started drunk texting me. After a while we started talking as friends so about once a week he text me to check on me. Long story short he just invited me to go on a vacation to Hawaii with him in April . (His best friend lives there. ) I asked him how did he want to do the accommodations and he said “ we should get separate rooms” is he just using me to have someone there to have fun with and strictly just friends with no intentions whatsoever OR is he being respectful and wanting to possibly reconnect on the trip and get back together ?? P.S - he’s not paying for anything. I’m paying for all of me. SOMEONE HELP PLEASE!!
