Abusive relationship

How does one heal from an abusive relationship? I was in an abusive relationship for 2 years. I finally had the courage to break it off with him last weekend. I had to do it over the phone because I feared he would hurt me or manipulate me into staying. It still hurts though. He was someone I cared about. So how do you get through these tough times? Especially during the holidays.
