Should moms who choose to formula feed be shamed?

Sarah

I am pregnant with my third child, and had issues with producing milk with my last two. I had lactation consultants, midwives, took supplements, and tried pumping. Eventually I had to give in with both, and formula feed in order to provide the nutrients they needed.

At Christmas dinner several of my family members kept making me feel shameful about my choice not to be worried about breastfeeding if it doesn't happen again. They don't know the struggles or past health issues I've had that contributed to my previous choices.

I would never shame a breastfeeding mom, so why do people think it's ok to shame someone if they choose to/need to formula feed?? 😪
