Baby's Father?

So the baby's father & I are no longer together. He is such a bad person and he is not fit to be a parent. He doesn't work, he's always going out, hanging out with his friends & is always drinking. I don't see him fit to care for another life. I was told that if I didn't put him on my baby's birth certificate that he wouldn't have a say in anything on the child's life. But I was worried that if he tries to get custody he could get a DNA and win. I'm not sure & I'm super worried.

from what I understand if you don't put him on the birth certificate he could get a dna test and be put on the birth certificate anyways. if he's the father then he has rights, if he's not fit to be a parent you'll have to fit it In court I think.

In most states you can not put him on birth certificate if you are not married and he is not present anyways you have to fill out a affidavit of paternity with him present if your not married. But if he wants to take it to court you will have to prove him unfit

If he wants to be a father he can choose to fight to get rights. He’s allowed to do that. But I don’t see that being an issue unless he gets his shit together. And that’s if he cares enough to try.

He can order a paternity test and be on it anyway.
Then you have to prove he isn't fit to care for a child. No employment isn't a determining factor (especially if hes looking for work), neither is going out with friends. 
You may have to fight it in court.
You also won't be able to get any child support or other things if you keep him off the birth certificate.

birth certificate or not, hes the biological father and courts will look at that. unless you can prove he is not fit to be a parent then it'll be split custody if it ever goes to court.
