When are you 6 months pregnant?

Most things say 22 weeks but a few say 26 weeks and that seems to make more sense.  Thoughts?

You are starting the 6th month at 22 weeks (so like 5 months 1 day, etc) but your aren’t completely 6 months until 26 weeks.

I go by how much time has passed/how much a left. I cant with those odd pregnancy weeks to months charts. I’m due mid May so I say I’m about 4.5 months pregnant.

A month is 4.3 weeks long. 6 x 4.3 = 25.8 (so about 26 weeks). I think the charts telling you 22 weeks are telling you that your 6th month starts at 22 weeks but isn’t completed until 26 weeks. Does that make sense? So month six would be from 22 weeks - 26 weeks. It’s a bizarre way of tracking time that only seems to occur during pregnancy. Nobody says a 2.5 year old toddler is “in her third year”. Yet that is totally what we do for months during pregnancy.
