Amazing how a better night’s sleep changes your perspective 😅
I was having a really rough day yesterday. Our baby has not been easy and I had spent a couple hours trying to get him to sleep for the night. Eventually as my husband sees me sobbing over the bouncer begging our wide-eyed little boy to sleep, he offers to thaw some pumped milk and take over for a bit later in the night. I get the baby to sleep a little later and bring him upstairs and put him down. 10 minutes later he wakes up and my husband gets him. That’s the last thing I remember until now at 5am! I didn’t even wake up the next time he cried, and my husband took care of everything. When he started crying to be fed at 5am today, he had been sleeping for 4 hours!! That’s the longest he’s slept since the hospital. 😭 I was feeling so much more optimistic when I picked him up to feed him this morning! Just an extra hour or two of uninterrupted sleep makes a HUGE difference sometimes! Take care of yourselves! If you’re feeling discouraged or overwhelmed ask your partner or a friend or a parent to take over for a bit and go grab a coffee or take a bath or a nap (or all of the above) and come back refreshed. Both you and your baby will have a better experience if you’re not neglecting to care for you. (:
