I'm bleeding!

My husband and I are TTC. But we just started trying for almost two weeks. That is when I stopped my birth control. I had my period two and half weeks ago. So only took a couple of birth control pills before I stopped. But this morning I started spitting and now I have a light period and some dark blood as if it was towards the end of a normal period. Why? Am I ovulating? Is this because I stopped the birth control pills? I know it will be a couple of months before I'm able to get pregnant because of birth control but I just want to make sure I'm okay. Advise please!
