Am I being an unreasonable SAHM?

I stay home with our 3 month old. I find myself getting frustrated constantly with my husband because I’m constantly picking up after him. I understand it’s my job to maintain the home while he works, but I feel like I shouldn’t have to pick up after him constantly. Some examples include a tool box that’s been on the living room floor since Christmas, his socks stuffed in the couch and his clothes on the floor. Am I being dramatic and is this what I signed up for??

It is what you signed up for but NO one should be leaving their socks in the couch or a toolbox on the floor (potentially dangerous) he needs to grow up. You’re home to take care of your lil babe. Not a grown man’s mess

Ok no. Just because you stay at home does NOT mean he can be a slob. I do all the chores in my house, groceries, food prep, outdoor gardening, most of the baby care, and keeping the finances in order. My husband can toss the laundry in the bin. Its not that hard. Sheesh just because you SAH doesn't mean he can rub his butt across the carpet come on now people.

Yup, dramatic.  Wait until there are 2 or 3 kids running around.  The house will never be clean.

Just be like “hey can you pick that up please, and next time put it somewhere else.” and then there you go. Problem solved.

I may stay at home but I’m not his maid, if he leaves clothes around I tell him they need to be picked up and put away. I keep baby, cook and do laundry but he puts his clothes away and anything he leaves laying around

Not being dramatic, but it couldn't hurt to have a conversation with him and tell him how full your hands are with baby and it would be easier for you to maintain the house if he picked up after himself for the most part. There's nothing wrong with telling a grown man to put things in their proper places.

honestly, if you are not working then yes it's what you signed up for. you have taken the role of the housewife and he has taken the role of the provider. he shouldn't have to be worried about things like that. now if you worked and he worked then it would be a different story.

My husband and I have the same exact level of cleanliness/tidiness (which is neither slob nor neat freak). We clean every weekend and we both work full time, and there’s stuff around the house weeks at a time. When I worked less, I did more of the housework and didn’t mind it. He was the primary income earner and I was home. 
There were times when I felt like I was doing more, but that’s because I put the pressure on myself to always do things. I lightened my load and tell him when I need help, and everything is fine

Am I being an unreasonable SAHM?
