Since I was a little girl, I have been obsessed with the Blue Angels; it's honestly a huge part of the reason why I live in Pensacola. Mike has known of my obsession with them, and jets in general, since day one and anyone who knows me knows how I always say that in another life I would be a jet pilot. Because of this obsession, I about peed my pants when Mike told me about a private tour of the hangar he set up for us through one of his friends; an ALPO for the Blues. December 12th couldn't come soon enough!

We toured the hangar with Jace seeing some jets under maintenance, watching as number 5 and 6 went through takeoff checklists and took off, and we even saw a jet that is about to become a Blue Angel. As I am walking around the jet they had on the flight line for us touching this and touching that, taking pictures (and pretty much fangirling like no other) I turn around to see my very best friend down on one knee asking, "So will ya, will ya marry me? You know, one ring to rule them all." Right there on the flight line in front of the number 7 Blue Angel!! And with no hesitation at all I say, "You're such a dork! Yes!! Of course!!" He puts the ring on my finger and stands up to hug and kiss me. And just like that we were the first ever couple to get engaged at the hangar!!

I am honestly so grateful for a man who knows my heart and sees my worth. A man who wants a future with me in it no matter what comes our way. I'm grateful for parents who knew all about this incredible moment and have welcomed Mike in like he was their own since day one. You three mean the absolute world to me. I love you!

I am thankful for the people who made this moment happen. Mike's planning with Jace - the Blues ALPO, @mrs.marilyngries - my friend and our amazing photographer, @helzbergdiamonds for the incredible ring Mike chose, and the @usnavyblueangels pilots/crew who were cheering for us back in the hangar watching it all go down.
