should I message my crush??

I kinda like this guy who i sit next to in my maths class but I hardly talk to him. I had a rly good last lesson before the holidays where we had a nice convo but that's about it. should I message him about a maths question or something just to initiate a conversation ??? help I'm so awkward ik it shouldn't b a big deal especially for a 17 yr old but it is for me lol UPDATE: I messaged him asking if he did a maths question for the assigment and he said oo can't remember is that the one with the field so i messaged him back like yeah when we have to find the angle and then he hasnt seen it even tho he's been online 💀💀
