Ovulation and Plan B

Hello,

New to this community! I am meticulous at following my cycle, including using ovulation sticks to be sure I know when I am at my most fertile. We are very careful as always, but somehow the condom didn’t work, and my FI realized slightly too late that something was wrong. He removed himself as soon as he realized it was happening but there is really no way to tell what could have occurred a second before. I had in spermicide and I was 8 or more days away from ovulation from the looks of my past cycles. That afternoon I took a plan B pill knowing it should delay ovulation or halt it completely. I am always overly cautious as I cannot use an IUD or birth control from previous experience and breast cancer concerns.

I did not start testing my LH levels until after taking this pill, which increases your estrogen levels from what I understand. What my concern is that the next few days I watched my ovulation tests become closer and closer to being positive, and yesterday only 5 days after the accident and the pill I have a positive ovulation reading, and today I have a negative reading like I would see after ovulating. So comparing to previous cycles I somehow tested positive for ovulation 4-5 days earlier after taking plan b. What is going on with this result? Is it just the estrogen I am seeing rising and an egg did not release? Any info or thoughts would be appreciated, as it does not make sense and I’m very concerned I somehow caused myself to ovulate early by taking plan b.
