period on mirena?

I got the mirena iud inserted in may and spotted off and on until this month, I got a full on period. is this normal? I am sexually active and my cramps have came back too. anyone else?

Answer

Hormones must’ve regulated. That happened to me with my second Mirena. I also started having regular periods. With my first I didn’t have a period the entire time I had it (4 years), when I had that one taken out it was such heavy heavy periods, and irregular.
