Tips To Make Being at Home Easier!

Gabrielle

Hey everyone! Little back story I spent 55 days in the hospital before having my baby and she spent 25 in the NICU for one of the rarest conditions of pregnancy called TRAP. We are very lucky to bring home a baby as she’s one of few living TRAP babies! It only occurs in 1 in 40,000 pregnancies and only occurs with identical twins and involves the loss of the twin and it continuing to grow and a 50-99% mortality rate for the living Baby. We lost her twin at 8 weeks and she grew until c section delivery at 34+3. It’s also the only time in pregnancy a passed baby continues to grow (she ended up not looking like a baby). Now that we are home I’m having a hard time being home. I am usually a workaholic so the last few months have been pure TORTURE being stuck in a hospital room and now being stuck home. I love love taking care of our daughter but I’m getting kind of depressed being alone with no one to talk to. I went to my appointment on 8/29 thinking I was going to work after and that’s when they discovered TRAP at 26+4 (we knew she passed at 8 weeks we just thought she had absorbed until that day but they found a 10CM mass in my uterus which was our passed daughter) and I was immediately hospitalized. The whole ordeal was painful and traumatic and I found myself bawling at Christmas saying “I delivered two babies I should have two babies!” It still bothers me which is probably part of the problem. My husband is a huge help but when he’s at work it’s just so quiet 😩 I go back to work after she gets her shots which is 5 weeks from now. Currently 9 weeks PP and having a hard time being isolated since we can’t take her out anywhere just yet. Husband is my best friend so when he’s home everything is perfect but when he’s not the silence is deafening. My image of 12 weeks off work has turned into 22 weeks! What do y’all who are home do to make it easier? Pic of my beautiful miracle Delilah! Thank y’all in advance sorry it’s so long! ☺️
