Missed period and I am 12dpo

Had a dream I got a positive and felt the overwhelming joy and tears and happiness. Well I woke up and accepted it was a dream and went to work and when I first started moving around I felt dizzy and sick. I kept feeling the urge to throw up and have had minor cramps. I thought it was my period coming on. I'm still giving it time though. No rush. I picked up some tests anyways and went to test and it was invalid. I'm kind of bummed out. I'm hoping the other one isn't broken as well :/
