How to date the first time after a long relationship?

So it’s been a very long time since I’ve dated and such. There’s this tattoo artist that my ex went to and I was in awe every time I went with him to get a tattoo. He’s very attractive. We watch each other’s snapchat stories. He never noticed me till I took a screenshot of one of his stories of a tattoo I liked, then that’s when he started to watch my stories. I want to slide in his dms but I’m scared. I was in a 5 year relationship and I don’t know what to say or do. I really do want to talk to him though.
