HELP-maybe in labor?

Okay FTM here! So I'm exactly 39 weeks as of today, I just woke up not feeling the best. This morning I had shooting pain that goes the whole way across my back/tailbone area. It was very sharp every 10 minutes, then would tone down a bit and just kind of linger there until the next sharp pain. I was also on the toilet for about 20 minutes (TMI, sorry) because I feel like I need to poop but nothings happened at all. My stomach was also hurting a bit down lower. Well I went back to sleep, and woke up fine. I was in my dogs crate cleaning up and my underwear and shorts were wet, it was only down to my thighs but it was still very wet. Well I went in the bathroom and wiped, there was my mucus plug. It was definitely the whole thing, very big and bloody.. (still TMI lol) should I call the doctor? Is it normal for a mucus plug to make everything that wet??????
