so family were meant to be coming for new year, one became ill 3 days ago but promised they were still coming, confirmed everyday including last night, called this morning to ask what time they'll be here only to be told they couldn't come as the one that was ill couldn't leave the house! but was ok to drink and celebrate last night! I've spent over $150 on food and spent 2 days cooking just for it all to end up in the bin because there's no one to eat it, I even spent loads on meat I can't eat because they won't eat turkey! why can't people be considerate and either stick with plans they make it give enough notice. New year is ruined and it's only just begun, so now I'm on my own with a crap load of food trying not to cry. hope everyone is having a better day, lonely is the worst feeling
