Taking a pay cut for a new job?

So I am job hunting for a new job and I applied to a bunch of places but one place got back to me via email and they wanted to know what days I’d be free to chat. I am excited and I am awaiting their call and also I pray I land an interview and eventually get hired.

Now I did some research on the company and the position I applied for.

The wage for the potential new job maybe $2 less than what I get @ my current job, hourly.

I do hate my current job that’s why I want to leave and I wouldn’t want to miss this incredible opportunity with this new potential job.

Now I may be completely wrong where they may match my current salary or even pay more.

But with the new job, I’d be willing to settle for less because it’s just a good shift in career.

How do I politely and professionally let them know I am ok with taking a pay cut for the sake of landing the new job and being a part of their company ?
