can teeth go back if I wear my retainer?

every once in awhile I forget to wear my retainer, I've been braces free for about 4 months. I don't think they've shifted, but even if they start to shift the one day I forget my retainer, can I put it back on the next night and they'll start to fix themselves? first pic is right after I got them off, the second is a couple days ago. is there a notable change or no?

A day or two is fine... I couldn’t wear mine in pregnancy... made me gag lol and now my teeth have moved and my retainer doesn’t fit 😭

Yes but if you go too long without your retainer it won’t be able to fit anymore

I'd wear it as long & often as possible. Your teeth will move the rest of your life.

I don’t see a big change but wear your retainer!! I know it’s a huge pain in the ass but you if you don’t use it essentially you just wasted all that money on braces because your teeth will move again. If they started moving, they will continue to move more if you don’t wear it. If you continue to not wear it, depending on the type of retainer, it can either move it back slightly or it will just help it stop moving. I’m in dent school so seriously wear it! You want to keep those beautiful teeth of yours straight! 😁

I’ve had braces twice, if you don’t wear it, they will shift back. I wouldn’t worry about it if you miss a day or two. Just try to remember to wear it more than not wear it 😁
