Social media announcements???

Yes or no?
I’m still too early to announce to the world 🤰🏼, however I’ve always wanted to do one of those Cool pregnancy announcements but now finally being pregnant I’m 50/50, my partner doesn’t love the idea of the whole of fb knowing as well as my mum. I respect my mum and his thoughts about it as it’s such the ‘norm’ to do a cool pregnancy announcement these days...
Thoughts?

Did you choose NOT to post an announcement on social media that your expecting? And why?

This may be an unpopular opinion but I’m actually tired of seeing so many announcements. There have been a lot among my friends list. Don’t get me wrong for the few who I’m closer to I get so happy for them and am grateful to be able to follow along with their pregnancy. That being said, I followed a peer from High schools entire pregnancy a couple years back. It was her first baby. I remember seeing her photo 1 week before her due date. She was so happy sitting in her babies nursery. I couldn’t wait to see her delivery pics! Due date comes and goes. A month passes and I still hadn’t seen any pics from her, the hubs, or any family members. I still don’t know exactly what happened but the hubby posted that their baby had passed. I was In shock. It was heartbreaking. I learned a lot from that and resolved myself I wouldn’t post anything about my pregnancy on Any social media sites, and I haven’t. It’s not difficult for me either because I’m a more private person and it’s no ones business, unless I want to share with them.
All that being said, it’s a decision you both have to agree on. A lot of people wait for the gender reveal because the MC risk has decreased but it’s up to you.

Personally, I think things like social media announcements are one of the fun parts of being in our generation! I love seeing other people's announcements and love being able to follow along with people during their pregnancies! It's fun and exciting, and it makes me so happy for the people who are expecting! And if they experience a loss, I think it's nice that those same people don't have to suffer alone/in silence but instead have a support system.

This was ours. We told our immediate family after our first apt at 8 weeks and were telling friends here and there. We have quite a bit of family and friends out of state and over seas. We wanted to share our amazing news with literally everyone!

I’m 32 weeks and just announced on Facebook (mainly family on there) with this picture and just put a simple caption.

I think it’s totally up to you and your husband. Who cares if people are “over it” they can just keep scrolling! Do what makes you feel happy!

We announced at 7 months with some maternity photos my husband took. We chose to not announce earlier on social media because I enjoyed telling people in person so much and because I don’t feel I need to put all the everythings on social media (my husband and I aren’t even listed as being in a relationship, for example). But the photos came out so beautifully that we decided to share them as a sort of “announcement” 
But by then it was mostly acquaintances who I don’t keep up with regularly who didn’t already know
