Second Chances

Would you give someone a second chance if they initially asked for sex? I met this guy new years eve at a party and he reached out to me through a mutual friend. We started texting, but he asked to have sex before he left to go back to school states away. I told him I felt disrespected and that that wasn't how I did things and he then apologized and asked to start over and get to know me. Should I give him a chance to do things right or was that a dealbreaker? Since talking, he actually seems like a decent guy that was just caught up in attraction.
