Why is it not happening?

My husband and I have been TTC #1 for a little over a year now. I know that this is minuscule compared to some women and I honestly don’t know how you do it. Why can’t my body do what it was made to do. Why can’t I have what I want so bad and so many others get it when they don’t want it. I am just so confused 🤷‍♀️. Why did my high school health teacher make it seem like it was the easiest thing in the world!! I did everything right I got on BC 3 months before we had sex the 1st time, so we wouldn’t have one before we were ready. I finished school. We both have great jobs with retirement. We bought our home August 2016. Then decided that we would start trying that December (meaning I stopped BC the end of Nov). Then for 13 months now I have had regular 28 day cycles. I mean so regular I could almost narrow it down to the hour. I have had 2 periods where I thought maybe this is it. One in may that was a day late. And this past December I had 3 days of spotting then my normal 5 day period. It’s so frustrating. I see my obgyn on Jan 22nd. I know what you are going to say have you been charting or using opks. The answer is no because I see on here the frustrating post from others that ask if their chart looks right or the ones who used both and still no BFP. I tried to make this 1st year be a fun thing and not lose my sanity over it. My first set of OPKs arrive today and I’m feeling very disappointed in myself. Just need some encouragement to not completely give up. (On a side note I also have Crohn’s so I am also battling my GI doctor on meds because I’m afraid to take any of the meds he wants to prescribe. I don’t want it to affect my chances anymore than it already has. He said the only side effect the one he wants to put me on is low birth weight and premature birth or in his words delivering between 35-38 weeks).
