Must have’s for baby?!

I’m trying to do my baby registry and I just am not quite sure what exactly to put on it.
What are your favorite baby MUST haves?!

Newborn-3 months sleepers that are open at the bottom or that zip-you won't want to mess with snaps when you are getting used to the lack of sleep.  A baby carrier was a must for me it was the only way I got anything done.

For newborn clothes don't worry about a bunch of cute outfits, chances are you won't really use them. Sleepers or onesies will be your friend with all the accidents that babies have. Also don't wash everything, wash a couple outfits or each size newborn and 0-3 months. I washed everything and my son didn't fit in any of the newborn clothes and it would have been nice to be able to exchange what didn't fit for other sizes.
Decide what works for you in regards to a bassinet, crib, pack and play and only get what you feel you need. For my son we used a pack and play until he didn't fit in the bassinet part of it anymore and then we bought a crib second hand.
Get a variety of bottles to see which one your baby likes, but only wash a few. Come to find out my son would only drink from one kind of bottle and use one kind of pacifier and I wished I hadn't opened and washed everything so I could have exchanged some of them.
My son didn't drool a lot so we didn't use many bibs, but get at least a few until you find out whether your baby will drool a lot or not. Get baby blankets that work for spit up, quick diaper changes in your car, etc. The fluffy ones tend to lose fibers in and on everything which isn't great with a baby so I hated them and loved some simple flannel ones I got the best.
Laundry detergent, Dreft is expensive and has a strong smell, we used ALL free and clear and it worked awesome and didn't smell, so keep that in mind.
If you don't have room for a diaper changing station you don't need one. We just got the diaper changing pad and set it up on my dresser with a bin with diapers, wipes, and butt cream and it worked awesome and saved space.
If you or your spouse have sensitive skin keep that in mind, my son ended up being allergic to pretty much any Johnson and Johnson product, so don't buy a ton until you know what works with your baby and you, same with diapers. Huggies didn't work for us but Pampers did and I got a variety at my baby shower and then didn't get gift receipts so couldn't exchange them. I ended up giving the ones away that didn't work which stank.
I feel like the lists that the baby stores create really have twice the amount of stuff than you actually need so just think of your families lifestyle and what actually will work for you and don't think just because it's on the list you need it. I'm going into my current pregnancy knowing that even though I've given away most of my son's stuff I don't need to buy a lot because I know it won't be used. The one thing I will make sure to get is a back pack diaper bag. They are so much easier to carry and pack than standard diaper bags and with my son it was an investment that I used until he was almost 3.
