How do/did you survive the sore nipples initially?

Hey ladies. My baby was born on Tuesday morning and has been cluster feeding for both nights I’ve had her. She’s a little bit better during the day but seems to be constantly attached at night. How did you survive the sore nipples??? She latches on and my whole body cringes and aches. 
Feeling a little discouraged. I don’t want to supplement but my new momma nipples might need a break if I can’t find a way to relieve this pain.

Make sure she’s latching right. Lasinoh cream sorted my cracked nipple out really quickly! ☺️

If it comes down to it try pumping then your LO is still getting your milk. I know that as well won't be comfortable but I had sore nipples as well at first. My LO didnt latch well at first so ended up pumping a lot at first and giving bottles and continued to attempt nursing throughout each day. By 2 months we were strictly nursing and I no longer had sore nipples. I believe I initially got sore because of the poor latch. But pumping was less painful for me so it might help. There are also nipples creams you could try. I didn't find them all that helpful though.

I had the same issue... my little one has a good latch but at 2 days old she cluster fed all day and night -which helped my milk come in at day 3 which was nice- but my arms were sore from holding her and my nipples were sore from the frequency. My nipples weren’t bleeding or cracked just tender and I started using nipple cream -which felt good. Honestly it was still a little painful when she would initially latch but after that when she was drinking it was not painful at all. The pain wasn’t excruciating just uncomfortable, enough for me to scrunch my face when she latched but then I relaxed once she drank. She’s 3 weeks and 3 days old now and I just realized I haven’t had pain with her latch the last couple of days. Hang in there mama your nipples will toughen up! 
If you’ve got cracked and bleeding nipples though I think it’s something with the latch.

I was in the same boat day 4. Pump for a few minutes before baby latches. then coconut oil and these cold packs. cheaper and more effective than the soothes they recommended at the hospital. it's tough, but will be so worth it to stick it out. I remember just crying every time for a day or two, but it gets easier. I promise.

Make sure her latch is good! A good latch will help tremendously. Otherwise... Just grit your teeth and bear it. It's very, very temporary and I know it's miserable and awful - but it'll get better before you know it! Pump and offer the expressed milk if you need a break. Be really careful offering formula if you want to continue breastfeeding because it can dramatically affect your supply, since baby won't be telling your body what she needs.
