Dropping hcg levels

I went to the e.r on Saturday. I had very light bleeding but I knew I needed fluids. They checked my hcg levels and were around 87,000. I went for an ultrasound on Tuesday. They found a baby with a heartbeat of 74, which is low

For how far along I'm supposed to be. They checked my levels again and they decreased to 73,000. My doctor called me yesterday and told me to expect a miscarriage.

However, they haven't checked my levels again. And they haven't done another ultrasound.

Do I have any reason to hold out hope? Or should I just get ready to have my heart broken?
