So my friends and I had a conversation about shaving our vaginas. One of my friends says that she  has never shaved down there at all because her mother is a nurse and says that shaving causes STDs.

I think your friend was mistaken... shaving down there causes razor bumps usually.. but those are not an std.

Having hair down there can help by basically having a barrier so bacteria and whatnot are less likely to get in, therefore infections happen less often, but it will not keep you from getting an STD
