Anyone had a oxytocin test???

I’d never heard of this until today. My Dr. is doing one on me Sunday.

I had my 38 week check up Wednesday. Everything was good. No weight gain from the previous week this apt. Bp good. Baby good other than she’s measuring 42 weeks. Big baby is not a reason my Dr. can induce bc of the hospital regulations. Even he thinks it’s dumb but what can we do?

So yesterday (Thursday) my bp was high 179/110 😵 and my feet swelled up so bad which isn’t normal for me and they pitted ( stayed indented when pressed ). I was also having spots in my vision. So today I called and left a message for my Drs nurse. She called me back around noon and had me come in. Bp was 160/90 and Ive gained 3 lbs in 2 days! Wtf. Dr said it’s fluid. I also have hyper reflexes. I thought, cool I have bad ass reflexes! Say so to my dr. He says no, that’s bad. It’s a sign of pre e 😱. He says he wants to do an oxytocin test. Wants to make sure baby can tolerate labor. He said we may end up doing an induction or we may wait depending on the test results. My hospital won’t allow induction before 39+4 without a medical reason. I feel like this is enough reason?? I honestly just want my baby out so I know she’s safe.

Has anyone else had this experience?? How did it go?
