How to tell truth from lies?

If your husband lies to you about things such as smoking or chewing tobacco, or how much he eats, and he tells you his family doesn't like you because you're a bitch and they can tell he's miserable, do you believe him?

Why would it matter if it were true or not? If he's saying that I think it's a problem.

My boyfriend likes to lie about little things, sometimes I think he lies so much he really believes it's true. He's a horrible lair and I'll never understand why he continues to lie even after I throw facts in his face.
I stay because what he lies about is things that are stupid for me to even get mad at half the time. There's been times he lied about serious things but heck, he's my best friend and at one point we end up talking about crap and we're fine.
He's told me his life got horrible because of me but 10 mins later he's crying his eyes out.
(He's more emotional than me. Lol)
But idk, I guess you jus gotta think about this.. it obviously bothers you he lies.. I'd really get him to talk about things with you.. because half the time they start to lie it becomes more lies as time passes.
