How long did you have everyone wash hands before holding Baby?

I have a preemie born at 32 weeks who’s now 5 months old and was on oxygen until last month. I still make everyone either wash or sanitize hands before holding but my in laws always act so annoyed when I tell them to and say how she’s 5 months already and it’s not important anymore. How long did everybody have people wash hands?

My nephew was a micro preemie, and is still on oxygen most the time, but can go a few hours here and there without it. He’s 2 now and if we have the sniffles we still have to be careful around him. It seems silly but at the same time I understand because I have a healthy 8 mo old and it’s awful when she’s sick, so with him having a weaker immune system I’m like I don’t want to be the one responsible for him getting sick tell me what your rules are and I’ll follow them. So pretty much whenever you feel comfortable with people not washing hands is up to you. And hopefully people will understand why and respect your boundaries.

See with me as a FTM i want ppl to wash their hands 24/7 no matter how old my baby is because you NEVER know what ppl did before they hood your child & your hands carry the most bacteria

Since she is 5 months & updated on her shots I am less strict about it with family members. Me & hubby randomly sanitize our hands through out the day just in case. And we always carry hand sanitizer and have it around the house so that family members will hopefully remember to use it ☺️ & of course if someone is sick they aren't holding her either way. She hasn't been sick yet 💘 before she was able to get her shots though we asked everyone to sanitize every time.
