Autism & other disabilities

So to start of the story , I’ve been around disabilities since before I was born . My twin sister has downsyndrome and autism. And my moms brothers son (my cousin) has autism as well. Having a disability like that doesn’t necessarily mean a sad life , my sister and cousin are about the happiest people in the entire world and everyone adores them . But I’m actually really concerned about my future child having a mental disability . I’m scared that because my moms side has 2 disabled children, I will have a disabled child.

Now like I said I have lived my entire life around those with disabilities, my family founded one of the biggest downsyndrome “Buddy Walk”’s in the country .

I grew up in the downsyndrome association along with my sister so I just wanted to say that so everyone knows i am not afraid of my child’s disabilities being a burden to me in any sort of way.

I know how to live that life and I would know how to raise my child.

But my sister is going to be in diapers for the rest of her life because of her 2 mental disabilities and I want my baby to grow up and fall in love and get married and you know ,,, have their own life .

To be capable.

Anyways idk I just wanted to get it off my chest I guess .
