Which type of thermometer do you prefer?

I am a first time mom due in July and I am on the hunt for the perfect baby thermometer.  Let me know what brands and other specifics in the comments👍🏼

For the first 6 months 
You are supposed to use a rectal thermometer. 😊 I have a simple Red Cross that can go into butt/mouth/armpit.

I have the Kinsa. It can do mouth, ear, and rectal. I tried it on myself versus other thermometers we have and it read the same. I also compared her temp (underarm) to the temp the pediatrician had  and it was within a tenth. 
What I like about it is that it connects to my phone via a cord and keeps the temps recorded on my phone. It's just a neat app and thermometer. I know reviews are mixed online but I like it.

You really need to take temps rectally for the first 6 months, since it is the most accurate and even small fevers are dangerous for new babies.
Once they are old enough, I like the ease of the thermal ones that you can swipe across the forehead or take at the temple.

Rectal, I’m a pedi nurse I want an accurate temp 🤷🏻‍♀️ All the other ones can be very off sometimes.

I used a pacifier one for the first year. Vick’s makes it and I found it at Walgreens in accident! We use the underarm one occasionally, but my daughter is two now and I use the forehead one just to get an idea because she’s squirmy when she’s sick.

I have THEE best thermometer for babies and kids.. it has a mouth, under arm, and rectal attachment you can switch out and a carrying case for them.. can’t remember where we got it but I think it was cvs actually. I love it for my LO because we haven’t had to buy a new one as she’s grown😋 8 months now.

We love our forehead thermometer! It's much quicker and less invasive. We've never taken our daughter's temperature rectally. Her pediatrician doesn't either. If you're using a thermometer that goes under the arm, you'll add a degree to the reading as they tend to be a little less accurate. But whatever works best in your home!
