My birth story!!!

Tabbitha

Super crazy birth story that just goes to show that nothing really goes according to plan!!

So I started contractions at about 8:30 at night on 1-6-18, me and one of my friends decided to time them for about 3 hours before heading to the hospital. So finally at about 11 pm we make our way to the hospital like “it’s baby time!”

So we get there and the monitor me for about two hours before sending me home because I wasn’t progressing fast enough. I’m like okay, fine. Obviously little guy wasn’t quite ready, but I’m crazy disappointed.

So we go home, and I take a shower. Mind you I’m still contracting. I get relaxed enough and end up falling asleep for a few hours. I get up still contracting, so I time them some more. I tell my husband “if they continue like this till 12:30 we need to head back up there.” Yeah, they had stopped at that point so we didn’t go..

Then at like 2-3 hey started back up but way more intense. We waited for about an hour before I really just couldn’t take the pain any more, and headed back up to the hospital.

We got to the hospital around 4:30 ish and as we pulled up, I felt a huge gush or fluid. I’m literally screaming in pain at this point so I think my water broke. I waddle my soaking wet self into labor and delivery and explain to them what happened. So I get put in a room immediately and then I realize something terribly wrong.

While my water did break, there was a lot of blood. Like a lot. So all of a sudden there are an enormous amount of people in my room, and the on call doctor is just a few minutes away. They are telling me to breath through some of the worst pain of my life and all I want is the epidural, my plan of a natural drug free labor completely out the window at this point.

The on call dr. gets here and tells me because there’s so much blood, he’s afraid that my placenta ruptured or my placenta detached from the uterine wrong. He tells me that it would be in my best interest and as well as the best interest for my son to have a c section. So of course I agree.

We go to the or room and start getting prepped. The did a spinal tap and started cutting away. At 5:13 my beautiful son was born. Weighing 5lbs 15 oz and 18.5 inches long.
