Late period, White discharge?

My period is late by about 5 days or so, and in its place is white discharge, which I only get when I'm ovulating. My boyfriend and I have been trying and trying. This is the first time I've been late since trying, but I took a test 2 days ago that came up negative. Could this be a sign of pregnancy? PS I did use dollar store tests because I read they work just the same, and that's how my best friend found out she was expecting.
