Did you elope?

Question

My fiance thinks we should elope and when we have the money to then have our wedding. I'm not against it at all. Not like our relationship will change much as we both agree we are already married just without papers for now. We really want to get legally married this year or next. 
I want to hear peoples' stories of eloping. Did you love, hate/regret it? Did you wear anything fancy or nice that day? Did you have a wedding or planning a wedding after? Where there any family or friends to watch?

We did it but because of insurance purposes and because I wanted the two of us and our baby to have the same last name. We are so happy we did it, we were extremely casual. We had our parents go with us too because the city hall did a small ceremony for us. We are planning to have a wedding in October. Nothing big so We can buy a house but something big enough more of our family can be included

We're planning to have a courthouse wedding in a couple weeks. Mostly likely, it will just be the 2 of us, that way (hopefully) no one will be offended for not being invited. We'll probably just wear semi fancy clothing, not suit and short white dress but more like button down and casual dress. In a year or more we'll have a wedding for both families and do all the fun stuff; dress, photos, ceremony, etc. I'm pregnant so i just want to be legally married and not have to deal with all the stress of a wedding.
