Hey guys, if anyone has experience with autism I'd really appreciate your input here. My son is 5 months next week. He's always been a 'good baby'. He never cries when we're out and only really fusses when hungry, sleepy or uncomfortable. When he's awake I can't cuddle him. He will sit on my lap if I have a book or toy for him to play with, and I can sort of cuddle him while bottle feeding or if he's sleepy enough but while awake he will twist and writhe to get away from me. He doesn't respond when I kiss him or stroke his hair or try to cuddle him. He enjoys being held to my body while standing but won't let hold him if I'm sitting or laying down. He enjoys a few things and does smile, but VERY rarely laughs. He likes being slid around the bed on our fur comforter and when we make certain sounds (ooohs and ahhhs, blowing bubble noises etc.) Today he spent most of the day squealing and shaking his head from side to side. We tried everything to entertain him and stop him from squealing but nothing worked for very long. He's my first child so I don't know if this is normal or not. He's reaching most of his milestones as far as I can tell.
