Did not know this was dangerous!

Question

My friends little boy broke his leg riding down the slide with her. Apparently it's a super common thing and I had no idea. The rubber from the sole of their shoe sticks to the plastic on the slide and the weight of the adult pushing them forward causes their leg to break or fracture. I would be so horrified if this happened to me! Glad I learned this is apparently an issue and thought I'd share.

this is why our daughter goes on slides with just socks on. it slides better. myself loving slides since I was a kid, I remember breaking my foot, JUST LIKE THAT, by having my soles stuck to the slide, as my mom and I were going down.  had it been just ME, it would have been ok, because a baby doesn't have the weight to push hard and break anything.  when an adult does it, especially since in the moment Ur trying to get momentum going, u will end up literally pushing down to make u both slide. . and tearing ligaments or worse.. because of that, my daughter doesn't wear shoes on slides. socks get dirty , and put in the wash.. I make sure the area is kid safe,  no broken glass, no sharp sticks etc and let her be in socks only
