What age should children no longer be able to sleep in bed with parents/parent?

My 3 yr old likes to get in my bed in the middle of the night. My husband works nights so it’s not like there’s anything adult going on in here. I still think it’s a little controversial because my nephew slept in his grandparents’ (they raised him) room until he was like 7 or 8. So what age do you think is the cut off?

Until someone isn’t happy about it. If everyone is happy then I don’t see a problem with it.

My 5 year old climbs in with me and my husband (he’s not biologically her dad but for all intents and purposes he is - he has no other children) and I’ve noticed that she tends to climb in but I’m the one who ends up in the middle. So his arms are around us both but her body is against mine only on my right side and I’m in the middle. This is something that the two of them have decided on. A huge part of this is that my daughter is very attached to me and for my husband, he likes to sleep in shorts and so he prefers me next to him. I figured they have both set that precedent and that comfort level for themselves and I’m happy with it. Kids tend to know and feel that comfort and discomfort there’s not really a right or wrong. I used to sleep with my late father until the age of 10 and then again when I was 21 and he had cancer, id lay on his chest and doze off on him during his treatment and would do it even now if I could.

I occasionally did up until like 18. it was very rare once I hit teens, but I think once in a while it doesn't matter the age. However I don't think they should ever consistently sleep in the parents bed but that is just me.

unpopular opinion I guess..I think never. As a child my mom slept in my room till about 8. I was so scared and couldn't sleep if she wasn't there. I don't want my kids to know there room is a safe place, if I'm there or not! So we will never be co-sleeping! 😊

i think every family is different. i know i slept in my moms bed 2-3 times a week up til grade 11 because of nightmares. i was adooted at age 6 n im still haunted by things i seen before then. i also know that some kids have their own bed from the start. aslong as both parents and kids are Happy then doesnt matter

I’d say when my child decides to stop sleeping in his bed as long as he’s under the age of 12 honestly, some children just enjoy the feeling of their parents next to them, could just be a comforting thing.

My daughter sleeps in her own bed as of a week or two ago and she is 4.
Her bed is right next to mines though lmao.
