Housing options?!

I live in a tiny 2 bed flat via housing association in the UK, and I am currently pregnant with my 2nd child. The contract says maximum of 3 people living here, I currently live with my 4 year old daughter and my partner. 
My question is, will the council/housing association rehouse me when my 2nd child arrives and it is a boy? Because girls and boys need separate rooms. And obviously when the child gets to a certain age as I assume they won’t move me straight away after birth. I’ve have no end of problems here from horrible mould in the bathroom and both bedrooms to leaving us 1 weeks without hot water and heating because they ‘had no one to send over at such a busy time’. I feel like they will make this difficult as hell for us to move seeing how they are being now 😔

I would suggest you get In touch with your housing officer, explain that your bow expecting your second child. They will place you on the in need of larger accommodation. However it is likely to be some time before they House you, as most HA’s will allow 2 children to share rooms till ages of 13/14, if of different sex. Forever if the same, & room can hold a set of bunk beds. Your more likely to be rehoused in to larger accommodation, if you home is becoming an health issues for you and your family. I don’t know how bad the mold is, but I would say take photos before cleaning with bleach. Then monitor and take photos daily/weekly if it’s growing that quick. Ass your housing officer to have the mound assess ASAP, and a solution found. If you have been suffering from chesty coughs colds etc, then let your go know about living conditions. Also if your concern about your health speak to your midwife. Then hopefully if your HA have not addressed the issues. Contact your local council and explain what’s been going on. This should prompt A repair order which HA will be given some much time to repair. If this don’t get adhered to rehousing will then be the next step. Shelter England are great to ask for  advice. If you really would like to move property my advise to you would be join home swapper. National data base for housing exchanges. And most councils/HA will grant you access for free. This way you could look for other people in your area/nationwide if relocating is an option, that are in need of a smaller/different property. Hope this helps.

Girls and boys need separate rooms? I shared with my brother until I was 15. At least the last 3 or so years it was in a room big enough to divide with a folding screen so it felt like two rooms but it was still one room

They will assess you and you may be out on a list to move - but depending on association they can be very flexible with who they count as ‘people’ as children under a certain age can be grouped together- also they will not see two young children sharing a room as an issue- some councils don’t even see teenagers sharing a room as problematic- the mould is something you can be forceful about- check if appropriate ventilation has been installed- you may have to leave a window open when you are in and attack the area with bleach (obvs get your partner to do this now you are pregnant)
