Trying to concieve after birth control

I've been given Provera (Medroxyprogesterone) 10 mg for first 10 days of the month. It was going to regulate my period since been off birth control. this is my 2nd month. last month went okay. this month I started period before I started the Provera. my period was also 1 week early. I was supposed to start the 8th and I started the 3rd. I ended the 9th and I am on day 12 and I am spotting like I am going to have a period is this just a side effect of Provera or something else wrong?
