Flu and no period??

Silly question, but can getting the flu delay your period?

My period is about a week late and I just got a real bad case of the flu recently. (Extremely high fever, body aches, chills, sore throat, violent coughs, some vomiting and now diarrhea).

I’m not too freaked out about it being super late, as sometimes my period gets off track and just this last month I was really stressed. And I don’t feel any possible pregnancy symptoms other than mild back aches..
